Acorn Squash Cream Soup

I made this for Christmas dinner and even my picky brother-in-law liked it ;)

* 1 small onion, chopped
* 1 stick of celery, chopped
* 4 tablespoons butter
* 2 tablespoons flour
* 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules (or 1/2 boullion cube)
* 1 teaspoon dill weed
* 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
* 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
* 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
* 3 cups mashed cooked acorn squash

* salt and pepper
* bacon, cooked and crumbled
* croutons


Saute the onions and celery in the butter. Stir in the flour and spices. Slowly add the broth and cream and heat until boiling. Mix in the squash and cook until thick. Process in blender in small batches (1 to 1 1/2 cups at a time) until smooth. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with croutons and crumbled bacon. Even kids won't know they're eating vegetables ;)
